What are the certification prerequisites?

  • Level One: four-year degree or four years of relevant experience
  • Level Two: Level One, PLUS either a four-year degree and three years of relevant experience OR seven years of relevant experience
  • Level Three: Level Two, PLUS either a four-year degree and five years of relevant experience OR nine years of relevant experience

 How much time should I expect to invest in the process?
This varies by experience, but beta testers report spending between two and four hours per week over a two- to three-month period preparing for Level One.

What is the study protocol?
Levels One and Two currently feature a custom-designed textbook with additional materials such as online courses or on-site study groups on deck for the future.

How much does SCPro™ Certification Level One cost?
Level One study materials cost $700.00 US for CSCMP members, while test registration is priced at $650.00 US. Levels Two and Three pricing is to be determined.

Are there waivers based on experience?
Regardless of experience, all SCPro™ candidates must complete each level in order. The tests are designed to be an organic progression of knowledge and experience.

If I don’t pass the SCPro™ Certification Level One exam, can I retake it?
You may retake the Level One exam, but you must wait a minimum of 30 days.

What are the requirements to maintain my certification?
Once you have attained CSCMP SCPro™ Level One Certification, you must participate in continuing education programs to maintain an active certification status. The certification cycle is three years. During the three years, you must attain no less than 20 hours of professional continuing education credits toward maintenance each year, for a total of no less than 60 hours over the three years. You are not allowed to attain all of your continuing education hours in one or two years to ensure that you continue your professional education on an annual basis. Upon completion of the three-year cycle, a new three-year cycle begins. Check the Certification Maintenance section on the Level One web site page for more details.

Questions Related to Scheduling a Test Appointment

How do I register for an exam at Pearson VUE?
To schedule a test appointment through Pearson VUE, select your testing program from the test-taker services section of the web site. Once you have chosen your testing program, you will be presented with a variety of ways to schedule your exam that are applicable to that testing program.

How can I locate a Pearson VUE test center?
To locate a Pearson VUE test center, select your testing program from the locate a test center section of the web site. Once you have chosen your testing program, you will be able to view available test centers near you.

How can I get directions to a Pearson VUE test center?
When you schedule a test, you will receive a confirmation letter or e-mail that includes directions. For information about a test center, such as its address, telephone number, or directions, select your testing program from the locate a test center section of the web site.

What days are the test centers open?
Availability varies from test center to test center. As a general rule, the test centers are open Monday through Friday. The majority of test centers are open in the morning and late afternoon and a handful have opted to stay open on the weekends.

Does Pearson VUE have access to information about tests that I’ve taken in the past with other companies?
For most testing programs, Pearson VUE does not have access to testing history related to tests taken with other testing providers. Test takers have the freedom to choose a testing provider on a test-by-test basis. Taking a test with one testing provider does not obligate you to take other exams with that same provider. Pearson VUE has access to all information necessary for test delivery.

I would like a receipt for my exam appointment. How do I get one?
A confirmation letter is automatically sent via e-mail after you schedule your test appointment. You may print the e-mail for your receipt. If you did not receive the automated e-mail, please contact Pearson VUE customer service.

I need to reschedule a test. What should I do?
To reschedule a test appointment through Pearson VUE, select your testing program from the test-taker services section of the web site. Once you have chosen your testing program, you will be able to reschedule your test online or by calling customer service.*
*Test appointments scheduled for less than 48 hours from now cannot be rescheduled on the web site. Rescheduling policies differ for each program. Please refer to your confirmation e-mail for program-specific information before attempting to reschedule your test appointment.

If your appointment is scheduled for less than 48 hours from now, you will need to speak with Pearson VUE customer service. I need to cancel a test appointment. What should I do?

I have rescheduled a test appointment using the Pearson VUE web site. How can I be sure that my record has been updated?
Once you reschedule a test appointment, your profile is updated immediately. You will receive an e-mail to the address in your profile confirming this change. To verify this change, select your testing program from the test-taker services section of the web site. Once you have chosen your testing program, select “My Account” from the navigation on the right side of your screen.
